Who We Are
The Red Trust helps to build community in the Little Reddings area of Bushey. We create friendly, hospitable spaces so that people can meet, connect, and help each other.
Anyone can fall on hard times, but we know that a supportive community is part of what helps people to bounce back. Since we were set up, we’ve met people who are passionate about getting to know their neighbours and supporting them as best they can: our role as a charity is to create spaces where this can happen.
We are here for everyone in Bushey who wants to be a part of what we’re doing.
Where We Work
The Red Trust works mainly in the Little Reddings area of Bushey.
Many of the houses were re-built in the 2000s and our café is based in the Phoenix Centre on Farrington Avenue – a community centre which opened in 2010 thanks to the hard work of residents who campaigned for a place to meet.
Home to Little Reddings School, with Bournehall and Bushey Meads close by, the area has people of all ages, from the youngest visitor to the Childrens’ Centre to the oldest resident in the sheltered housing. Many of the social activities in Bushey take place in Bushey Village and along the High Street. We want to create more social spaces in the Little Reddings area.
Our food bank is based at the Phoenix Centre on a Tuesday evening at 5pm to 6:30pm. Why not pop in for a cuppa and meet us? You will always get a warm welcome from the team.
Vision, Mission and Values
Our Vision & mission
The Red Trust helps to build community in the Little Reddings area of Bushey. We create friendly, hospitable spaces so that people can meet, connect, and help each other.
We want to help to build a community where no one needs to go hungry or be lonely. We are inspired by vision of life in all its fullness – for everyone who lives here.
Our Values
Our values are core to everything that we do.
Community – we complement and partner existing community to help each other achieve more
Value People – we are all created equal, everyone has value, worth and the right to flourish
Integrity – good stewardship of resources, be honest and maintain confidences
Shameless idealism – we believe in the power of hope and redemption!
Our History and Our Faith
We were founded in 2015 when unconnected groups from two local churches realised they shared a vision to start working in this area. As a Christian charity, we are inspired by a vision of life in all its fullness, and our projects are here for everyone in Bushey, no matter their background or belief.
